As part of the strengthening of the skills of its executives, the Guinean Environmental Assessment Agency organized training sessions on the development of specifications. The training was held on September 9 and 10, 2024, in a hotel in Conakry on the themes "Technical process of environmental prescription and monitoring of category C projects" and "Review of ESIA reports and content of environmental scoping and TOR reports".
It is an intensive two-day training course on the development of specifications for companies of all sizes in order to strengthen the management of environmental impacts.
For the consultant, Prof. Samuel YONKEY, head of training, "Sometimes, there is confusion between the specifications and the environmental and social clauses, and even confusion with the environmental prescription". So, the training will teach how to draw up specifications, and especially what specifications represent in environmental terms.
The adequate training of Guinean state agents in charge of monitoring and evaluating industrial and mining activities remains a major challenge, particularly in this phase of booming mining activities in the country.
